Rainworth Parish Council – About Us.

Parish Councils are the most local part of our democratic system, the part of local government that is closest to the public. The Parish Council works with, and for, our community and it represents you. The Councillors are elected by residents of the Parish, with elections taking place every 4 years;  the next election being in May 2019.

The council meets once a month (Except August and December) to discuss items set out in the agenda, prior to the meeting the agenda is published on the website under the heading "Agendas"

Minutes are taken at each meeting and will be published on the website under the heading "Minutes". Alternatively, a copy will be made available and can be collected from the Parish Council Office.

Members of the public are welcomed and encouraged to attend all meetings. Dates of meetings are posted on the Parish Council Notice Board and on this site under the heading "Council Meetings".

Annual Parish Meeting – Every English Parish must hold a Parish Meeting between 1st March and 1st June (inclusive). The meeting is only open to electors from the Parish and provides an opportunity to raise concerns and hear about the work undertaken by the Parish Council during the previous 12 months.
